About The Ship
The Ship at Eyemouth has been the heart of the harbour for hundreds of years. It has been host to generations of fishermen needing a drink after returning from the sea. It is also said that over the years, the quiet corners have been a meeting place for deal makers, smugglers, scoundrels and other visitors alike. It is likely that everyone who lives in Eyemouth, or who has ever lived in Eyemouth, has been into The Ship.
With the changing world of the 21st century, the old Ship Hotel struggled to find its place and found itself barely able to survive. After a relatively short time of closure, a plan was forged to revive her fortunes. Like many of the best plans it was simple. Return the focus to the original 18th century idea. The Ship would be a place of welcome and comfort.
Recent careful refurbishment and restoration has taken place to preserve the heritage and, through careful attention to detail, to create a beautiful restaurant and bar as well as The Ship’s Quarters a comfortable modern guest house with great character and style
